A little about us. All of our Powerboat courses are taught by fully qualified
RYA Powerboat Instructors. The teaching ratios are 3:1max but we
try to get 2:1 as we consider this is good value for money for students,
as they have more time driving. This is a far better investment for
the student than at a commercial centre. Our operating times are
9am to 5pm on each day (depending on the venue and time of year of
the course).
We provide the boats, fuel, life jackets, all equipment, hot drinks,
changing facilities, lecture area and toilets. The venues we use
will be to a recognised standard of the RYA as it will be a Recognised
Training Centre. You must bring and provide your lunch, spare clothes,
suitable clothing for the course, suitable footwear, towel, gloves
and a hat if applicable. North Staffs Powerboat do not issue sun cream, asprins, paracetamol
or any other associated medication. On arrival to our courses we will inform you of the locations
for all facilities, changing, phone, first aid etc and give you
a full induction into the equipment carried on the boats to familiarise
you with them. All of our courses conclude with a feedback session and a form
for your comments. We strive to imporve our courses but need your
input to enable us to understand exactly what you require. We ask for a deposit for all course bookings of 25% in advance
so as to allow us to book instructors and support equipment where
necessary. The balance is payable on arrival at the start of the
course. (This policy was the result of 1no individual who booked
a 'quick level 2' course and did not turn up!) Hope to see you soon. Stuart Scrimgeour (RYA Powerboat Trainer)
